Dear Praying Friends:
I trust this letter finds you, your family, and your local church doing well. I join with you in believing that God has great purpose and plans for His Church in 2021. I am glad that He is still working even when we can’t see exactly what He is doing in the shadows of our lives, that He is still speaking even during times of seeming silence, and that He is fully in control of everything that impacts our lives. Yes, our God is still sovereign! There is never any panic in His presence. Praise the Lord!
Please allow me to give a very brief update on the pressing health issues that Patti and I both faced
in 2020. As you may remember, she had major surgery in July and required additional hospitalization twice for surgical complications. It truly was a lengthy process of recovery, but she is so much better now and more able to travel and serve with me. Then, in December, we both had COVID. I am especially grateful to the Lord that Patti had a very mild case. While I was hospitalized for almost a week with double pneumonia, I have since recovered well and am able to return to a full schedule. Praise the Lord!
Like for so many others, 2020 was a year marked with delays, rescheduling, and even cancellations. We watched and waited in prayer as God took all of our plans for additional international work in Nicaragua, India, and Germany off the calendar (April-December) due to international travel and border restrictions. Many of our scheduled stateside meetings for 2020 also had to be cancelled or rescheduled. In a season when we sensed a need for greater clarity from the Lord, we rejoice that He gave that to us by opening additional, unexpected, and even unusual doors of service. Each of those assignments came with essential blessings from His hands. As 2020 came to a close, Patti and I were in awe of how God had used us despite our weaknesses. Perhaps it is better stated that God often uses us because of our weaknesses and acute awareness of our complete dependence on Him. The Lord patiently taught us much in 2020. Among the greatest lessons was our ongoing, constant need for Him. Praise the Lord!
I also praise the Lord for the open doors He continues to provide in 2021. Since the first of the year, God has given multiple opportunities in pulpit supply, mission/revival services, and pastors’ meetings, as well as in the recruiting of volunteers for mission teams, and even participating in international Zoom prayer meetings and Bible studies. While none of these specific events were on our written calendar in early 2020, we know that God plans each of these in His timing with the information He has had all along! We are greatly encouraged as He enlarges our vision for the days ahead. I have recently been asked to serve as a Field Administrator with our mission board, BMFP. It is truly an honor to serve Jesus in this capacity as we prepare to take teams of volunteers to the most unreached areas of the world to share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!
In closing, may I ask for your continued, specific prayer that God will re-open international doors for us throughout the world, specifically in South Asia, Central America, and Europe? We remain truly convinced that this is where God would have us go. Please pray for the clear leadership of the Holy Spirit as we move forward. Thank you for the encouragement you are to us. Please know that we deeply appreciate you, your own investment for the salvation of souls and the advancement of His kingdom, and the friendship that God has entrusted to us with you. God often brings you to mind and we pause and praise the Lord for you! We are personally committed to praying for you and would be sincerely honored to intercede regarding any specific needs you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact me either by email at raymondlappleby@gmail.com or on my cell phone at 904.608.0565 if I can be of help.

- Equipping national pastors and their wives
- Training leadership for church plants
- Distributing Bibles and discipleship material through churches, Bible institutes, orphanages, and prisons
2. Stateside ministries through local churches
- Mission conferences and revivals
- Pulpit supply
- Family VBS and camps
- Couples retreats
- Ladies’ meetings
- TWIM Annual prayer retreat
3. Student ministries – Students One6teen (Romans 1:16)
