Meet Me at The Well - November/December 2019

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord;

and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. II Corinthians 4:5

Please take a minute and pray for the Applebys - Larry and Patti

Enlisting, Equiping, Encouraging the next generation of missionaries!

I begin this prayer letter with a brief update on some personal challenges we have faced during the last quarter of this year. As many may know, Patti underwent serious surgery in mid-August, and then developed complications from that surgery which made it impossible for her to travel outside of Jacksonville. She has since improved greatly and we praise the Lord for answered prayer. We are also both grateful that during these few months, God has allowed me to keep all our scheduled meetings. More than anything, we are humbled by all He taught us in the secret place of the Most High (Psalm 91). Like you, our joy is ultimately found in abiding in Him! Thank you for your friendship, love, and your prayers for us in 2019. We remain grateful for you. May God richly bless you in the upcoming year!

PRAISE report: International endeavors in this quarter revolved around two major projects.

In October, we began a campaign to raise awareness for the need of prayer regarding the great spiritual and physical devastation in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian. You will be blessed to read the update online regarding these efforts (twim.org). Please continue to pray for Dr. Howard Mills in Nassau, Pastor Michael Hall in Grand Bahamas, and their churches as they continue to focus on rebuilding ministries and reaching the lost. ~~~ In November, I was able to participate in the annual Mission Possible European Retreat in Rothenberg, Germany, hosted by Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples. What an incredible week of meetings! Praise the Lord for one hundred and forty-six missionaries who came from all over Europe for the week of encouragement and training. Please pray for these dear laborers who serve the Lord faithfully in some of the most challenging fields of Europe. ~~~ God also opened many Stateside doors this Fall in churches in Florida, Utah, Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, and North Carolina where I was able to share the burden for reaching the world for Christ. I so enjoyed each mission meeting/conference, revival, pastors’ meeting, and every opportunity to fill pulpits and preach in school chapel services. The Lord is good! ~~~ The holidays of 2019 then came with a special way to end this year - time with our grandchildren! What a gift!

PRAYER requests: Our dear friend and co-laborer in Nicaragua, Dennis Thompson, left this world and entered the presence of our Lord on November 22. We ask for continued prayer for his precious wife, Sherilyn. ~~~ As we continue the raising of our pre-field missions’ support, please pray that God will open additional doors and use us for His glory. Please also pray specifically for our upcoming international team outreach in Belgium and Germany in February and March, and ongoing clarity in our vision regarding doors of opportunity, especially Southeast Asia and in Central America.

Yours for the Harvest, Larry Appleby

The Well International Ministries exists to:

- Magnify our Lord Jesus Christ so that many may come to know Him and make Him known.

These objectives are accomplished through three strategic areas of ministries:

1. International ministries through worldwide mission teams

- Leading evangelistic mission teams.

- Partnering with veteran missionaries

- Equipping national pastors and their wives

- Training leadership for church plants

- Distributing Bibles and discipleship material through churches, Bible institutes, orphanages, and prisons

2. Stateside ministries through local churches

- Mission conferences and revivals

- Pulpit supply

- Family VBS and camps

- Couples retreats

- Ladies’ meetings

- TWIM Annual prayer retreat

3. Student ministries – Students One6teen (Romans 1:16)

- Stateside ministry to teens with focus on living on mission.
