For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord;
and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. II Corinthians 4:5
Please take a minute and pray for the Applebys - Larry and Patti
Thank you, faithful pastors, supporting churches, and praying friends! We do not take lightly your friendship in the work of our Lord. Like you, we understand the responsibility that lies on each of us to fulfill the specific assignment God has given us for this season. His Son may return today! May we all “look unto Jesus” and finish our race well. (Heb. 12:1-2)
PRAISE report – This edition of our prayer letter update relates to ministry during the end of December 2018 through the month of January 2019. We were unexpectedly able to visit family out of state in the brief holiday weeks around Christmas and the beginning of the New Year. While we were gone, God opened the doors for us to re-visit several supporting churches and also made it possible for us to connect with new pastors and churches. Just after we returned to Florida, two of these churches notified us that they were joining our family of support!
To God be the glory for additional commitment of faithful prayer and financial support. We then completed the month of January with several great opportunities in both Central and North Florida, as well as being able to participate in the annual mission conference of our sending church, Grace Baptist Church of Baldwin, FL., We praise the Lord for our church and our pastor, Bro. Dewayne Jowers. It was also a joy to reconnect with missionary friends, and to hear the stirring conference messages by our dear friend, Dr. Charles Shoemaker. We have been reminded again how God sovereignly engineers our circumstances and our calendar!
Regarding ongoing pre-field (deputation) ministry, please PRAY for the following:
That God will increase our burden for the lost. Pray that He will use us in all of our travels to be bold and faithful witnesses of His saving power.
That God will open additional doors for us to us to share our vision for getting the Gospel of our Lord Jesus into unreached ares. Pray that God will fill our 2019 calendar with meetings in churches, pastors’ conferences and fellowships, and camp meetings, etc. Also, pray that God will make us a blessing to pastors and local churches as we serve alongside of them in Sunday schools, churches services, mission conferences, weekly prayer meetings, soul-winning endeavors, and special events.
That more of the churches that we visited in 2018 and those we will visit in this year will partner with us through prayer and financial support.
For ongoing clarity in our vision regarding international doors of opportunity in 2019. There is no shortage of opportunities, so we need His wisdom as we go forward. Please Pray specifically about continued harvest of souls in difficult places where we no longer have access and for veteran missionaries, national pastors, new converts, and the ongoing distribution of Biblical resources we have left behind.
