Meet Me at The Well - Nicaragua - Christmas in January 2018
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord;
and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. II Corinthians 4:5
Nicaragua - Christmas in January 2018
We praise the Lord for more than a dozen opportunities He has given us to minister in Central America since 2007. The staff of The Well International Ministries, Inc. is especially grateful to our friend, veteran missionary Dr. Bob Dayton, and for his invitation to partner with him again in January 2018. What a joy to serve with him, national pastors, and some of the great churches that have been established through BIMI during the last fifty (plus) years!
There’s much excitement about making the first mission endeavor of 2018 as effective as possible! Following our planning meetings there in October of 2017, we have been very busy preparing for the work in January when we will serve together in both Puerto Cabezas and in the outlying areas around Managua. Lord willing, volunteers from seven different U.S. states will make up three teams that will serve again for nearly two weeks. One team of ten members will begin a new outreach among the Miskito Indians near Puerto Cabezas. More than 25,000 copies of the New Testament in the Miskito language have been donated to Dr. Dayton for this project! Delivery of God’s Word is among the most important endeavors we ever undertake for His glory. How thrilling to be able to deliver these to this needy area! Please pray specifically about this worthy project.
Meanwhile, the other two volunteer teams will be serving in ten regional evangelistic/equipping conferences in the outlying areas of Managua. Please pray that hundreds of men, women, and children will participate in the evangelistic services each evening. Pray that many will make decisions for eternity when public Invitations are given. Pray that we will all witness first-hand how God uses His Word to save souls and bring reconciliation to many individuals, homes, and churches. Please pray also for the teams as they provide teaching each morning that will further equip leaders in regional churches as they continue to labor for the Lord.
We need your help! How can you partner with us?
The laborers in Nicaragua, though few, are faithful. Their fields are truly “white unto harvest” and their needs are great. There are two ways you can help. First, we need God’s people to give a special offering to cover the expenses of transporting the New Testaments from Managua to the remote villages. Secondly, once again we are packing evangelistic gift bags for this Christmas in January 2018 in Nicaragua. These gift bags are tangible expressions of God’s love for people in great need. Some who live near the Jacksonville, FL area have created their own gift bags for us to ship and deliver. However, time is running out! If you are interested in participating in this project, our volunteers are able to purchase, pack, ship, and deliver these gift bags for a donation of $20 each.
Each gift bag contains:
The Gospel of John and Gospel tracts (in Spanish)
Washcloth and bar of soap (2.6 oz.)
Tooth brush and tooth paste (l oz.)
Box of dental floss or small bag of dental flossers
Small brush, comb, and hand mirror
Head wraps (packet of 8) and card of colorful small hair clips
Tube of moisturizer/lotion (2 oz.)
Small box of Qtips (30 count)
Small bag/box of Kleenex
1 pair of reading glasses (any strength)
There is still time for you to help share God’s love with those who have never heard the Gospel. Feel free to visit us our donate page where you will find an easy way to participate in this worthy project! If you prefer, you may mail your tax-deductible donation to:
